Modern Warfare 3 Slated for Q4 2011 Release?

Yes, the release of a game that hasn’t even been announced is already set in stone… Well that’s according to a report released by the LA Times that says Activision has recruited Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software to double team the third game in the Modern Warfare series.
The LA Times report states that Sledgehammer (who are also working on a currently unannounced Call of Duty title) will be working on the single player element whilst Raven Software will be working on the multiplayer side of things. Due to the rumored collaboration, Sledgehammer Games’ unannounced title, rumored to be set in the future, has been put on tentative hold.
Although a release date had not been set, the publisher did state that they were looking at a ‘back half of 2011′ release, and I’m comfortable to guess that it will be November, following the release date trend of the previous Call of Duty games.
