Killzone 3 Invades Playstation Home Jan. 27th – Exclusive Preorder Offers
This Thursday, January 27th, players will be able to join the last of the ISA as they defend central plaza against the Helghast on Playstation Home in an experience Sony calls “Total Game Integration”.
The concept is brilliant promotion for Killzone 3 and anyone who can access Playstation Home can play the game, which is titled “Central Plaza Defender.” The title pits you against wave after wave of Heighast forces as they attack one of the last remaining ISA strongholds. The three levels have players fending off airships, machine gunners, and ground forces or assisting gunners by collecting ammo, health packs, or repair kits.
In addition to some fun, players can complete challenges to unlock Playstation Home rewards, and players that complete all three levels will receive 3 special “unlock points” for use in the full retail version of Killzone 3 to unlock new weapons and abilities.
In a bit of marketing genius, players can pre-order Killzone 3 through Amazon from a kiosk in Central Plaza. Ordering from this kiosk gets players some pretty sweet digital swag like:
- Limited edition Killzone 3 jetpack for your HOME avatar, not available anywhere else
- Unlock and Load Pack, instant access to three Unlock Points to use on the weapon or ability of your choice in Killzone 3 multiplayer
- Retro Map Pack, featuring two of the most popular maps from Killzone 2
