New Operation Flashpoint: Red River Dev Diary Puts You in the Boots of a Marine

The first development diary from Operation Flashpoint: Red River, really aims to show you how it is to be a marine in a tooth and nail fight. Taking place in Tajikistan, the diary highlights some of the distinguishing features of the campaign such as personalized load outs and the massive size of the opposing forces.

The player will take on two different forces as they battle to clear out insurgents and hold back the formidable Chinese PLA who attacks the player with state of the art weapons and equipment. The customization is taken a step forward with the ability to select 4 distinct marine classes like Grenadier, Scout, Rifleman and Automatic Rifleman. These classes along with the custom load outs aim to make every playthough unique and exciting.

For co-op fans Red River will also feature drop in – drop out gameplay for up to 4 players. Players will also earn XP across all modes that will contribute to weapon and equipment unlocks.

You can check out the dev diary below, and get ready for Red River when it hits stores in the second quarter of 2011.
