PlayStation NGP (PSP 2) Officially Announced
As everyone predicted, the follow-up to the PSP was announced just moments ago at the PlayStation Meeting in Tokyo. Codenamed “NGP”, it delivers several features requested by fans of the original portable device;
- Twin Analog Sticks, not nubs.
- SIX-AXIS Control
- Front/rear camera
- 5 inch Widescreen LCD
- Touch Pads on the Front/Back
- Flash Memory
- 3G and Wifi
- Trophies!
- Downloadable games

Games were also announced for the platform including Killzone, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout, Resistance and other lower profile games. Uncharted was played live on-stage, which was playable with both the touch sensors and physical controls. Sony also stated that the device is as powerful as the Playstation 3 and while Uncharted certainly looked beautiful, it’ll be hard to say whether that statement holds true.
