Chime – Now Bigger, Better and More Beautiful on PS3

Last year Chime was released on XBLA, it was lauded as peaceful, serene and addictive. Better yet, all the proceeds from the game went to charity!
But enough about that. Chime is back and better than ever – this time on the Playstaion Network.
The game now has twice as many serene and groovy tracks as well as two new multiplayer modes. Co-op and competitive. It’s all extremely f**king addictive as well. If you’re not familiar with the gameplay of Chime – it’s a bit like Lumines and Tetris… except it’s not really like either of them. Check out this gameplay video to get a better idea:
However, that is what the game looked like on 360 and PC. Now the board and shapes are all much more stylized and in 3D. It’s all part of the “Super Deluxe” edition that’s only coming to PSN. Check out this short trailer:
As you create more coverage on the board you will unlock more of the song and gain more points. It’s sort of hard to explain in depth but it’s let’s just say it’s extremely addictive, attractive, soothing, relaxing, creative, immersive and all sorts of other nouns, verbs and adjectives.

I played Chime Super Deluxe in both single player and co-op modes. The new co-op modes are just as, if not more so addictive, especially the competitive one. You will literally fight for coverage on the board and can even steal quads and points from other players. Even when it’s competitive the game still somehow manages to be serene and peaceful. It’s like going to a spa… or rehab… on your PS3.
Zoe Mode has not set a definitive release date yet for Chime Super Uber Mega Deluxe Edition – but it will be in the next few months.
Anyhow, while I don’t recommend that any of our readers use drugs… do yourself a favor: Call up a friend, spark up a fatty, kick back, relax and play some Chime… you can thank me later. ^__^
