I have looked up to and met many a man and woman I admire in the gaming world in my life – however, one man yet remains.  That man is John Carmack.  Founder and head of Id software, revolutuonizer of the FPS genre, and a friggin rocket scientist to boot.  Well, you may not be able to hang with John, but you can get his autograph on a Nintendo DS Lite, and for a great cause.

Here are the details on the auction:

You are bidding on an autographed Orcs & Elves-themed Onyx Black Nintendo DS Lite signed by id Software founder John Carmack. Though the box has been opened, this hardware has never been used and has only been gently handled since it was received in 2007. The DS has been decorated with an Orcs & Elves console skin. The signature appears to have been made with a silver permanent marker, yet it is advised that the buyer not handle the system, since it will degrade the quality of the signature. The system is for use in North America, therefore any accessories, such as AC adapter are designed for 110V power outlets.
