3DS eShop and Internet Browser Get Release Dates

Nintendo of America has just revealed the release date for the highly anticipated 3DS system update.  This update, available by the evening of June 6th, 2011 Pacific Time, will give 3DS owners access to the 3DS Internet Browser and Nintendo eShop.  The Nintendo eShop will be where fans can download new and classic games digitally right to their 3DS hardware.

It has also been confirmed that Japan will see this system update on June 7th, 2011.

Nintendo had previously stated that this update would come by the end of May, so it seems that Nintendo was off the mark slightly.  Still, I can’t wait to get this update on my 3DS!

So lame! I would have waited to buy my 3ds had I known this. Why release a system before it’s fully functional. I traded in my dsixl when the 3ds came out. My favorite thing on the dsi was flipnote hatena. Didn’t know I would have to wait 3 months to get it on my new system. Its so frustrating. Now I see there is yet another delay. Ugh!
