Duke Nukem Forever Goes Gold, Fans Sh!t Their Pants

Well the world may not have ended last Saturday but after the recent announcement that Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold, the world may just be pulling a fast one on us. It has happened, and has been confirmed by 2K Games that, barring a catastrophic event, say like the end of the world, the Duke will ship on the rescheduled June 10th release date.

Randy Pitchford, one of the men behind the Duke’s revival, had a few things to say about the once thought to be unshippable title.

“Always bet on Duke, I did. I bet on all of the developers who have ever been a part of this legendary project and I bet that none of us want to live in a world without the Duke. I’ve played the final game and it is an incredible experience – a once-in-a-lifetime opus of interactive entertainment that reminds me once again why Duke Nukem is our King. The developers of Duke Nukem Forever at 3D Realms, Triptych, Piranha and finally at Gearbox deserve our thanks and respect for never giving up and have truly shown us that they have balls of steel!”

So there you have it folks, after about 13 years and multiple incarnations, Duke Nukem Forever will finally materialize. Hopefully.
