The King Nintendo Fanboy’s E3 2011 3DS Predictions

Trying to predict Nintendo’s E3 plans is usually impossible. Everyone knows Nintendo is very secretive and keeps their lips unusually tight regarding unannounced titles. With that said it’s still possible to make some educated guesses on what Nintendo is planning to showcase at the show.
Nintendo 3DS
The 3DS is going to have a great showing at E3 this year. Last year Nintendo revealed the 3DS but didn’t have many playable games to show off. Fans should really expect them to have the games they announced last year playable, as well as some unannounced surprises.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Probability: 100%
One of the greatest games of all time is set release weeks after E3 2011 for the 3DS. I personally know several people that have bought a 3DS just to play this graphically enhanced re-release. Nintendo will obviously be showing this game off at E3.

Star Fox 64 3D
Probability: 100%
Yet another popular Nintendo 64 title that is being remade for the 3DS. Star Fox 64 3D is set to hit Japan this July. Fans outside of Japan probably won’t have to wait very long to see this title either. This is another title that will clearly be shown off by Nintendo at the show.
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Probability: 100%
Kid Icarus: Uprising was one of the biggest 3DS games shown at last years E3. Nintendo fans have been waiting nearly 20 years for the next entry in the Kid Icarus series. Previous demos of the game have been extremely enjoyable and I can’t wait to see the latest build which will, no doubt, be at E3 2011.

Super Mario 3DS
Probability: 100%
The latest 3D Mario title, which is being developed by the Super Mario Galaxy Team will be at E3 2011. Shigeru Miyamoto, the man behind Mario, has already confirmed it. Fans should also expect either the Raccon Suit, Tanooki Suit, or both to appear in this game. Still at this time very little is even known about Mario’s first adventure on the 3DS as only four screens have been released.
Mario Kart 3DS
Probability: 90%
Mario Kart for the original DS was one of the platforms best sellers, so I expect the already announced 3DS version to be shown off at the show. Mario Kart is always a huge draw and I’d be surprised if Mario Kart 3DS didn’t make it out by the end of 2011. Seeing it at E3 shouldn’t be a huge shock.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Probability: 100%
Nintendo is publishing this game in Japan, which is why it made this Nintendo focused list. They may not be the best series of games, but kids seem to really love them. This third entry in the series will probably sell well and I fully expect it to be playable at E3.
Paper Mario 3DS
Probability: 80%
An all-new entry in the Paper Mario series is set to hit the 3DS in the near future. This will be the first time a Paper Mario game has been released for a portable gaming device. Nintendo hasn’t said much about this RPG, but it’s currently on official Nintendo release schedules for every major region with a release date TBA.

Animal Crossing 3DS
Probability: 80%
The next entry in the Animal Crossing series was also announced last year at E3. Based on the tiny amount of information known about this game, players will take over the roll as Mayor of the town, a first for the series. Lets hope that this isn’t the only change planned for the 3DS version since the last two entries in the series did very little to mix up the formula. The odds of seeing this title at E3 2011 are very good.

While this list isn’t final by any means, it does give an early glimpse into what Nintendo could showcase at E3 2011. There will be many announcements for the new 3D portable at the show.
If I had to make any guesses as to what Nintendo could announce for the 3DS it would be a new Metroid title and maybe something Zelda related for the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series.
