Special Preorder Edition of Dead Island Revealed

Most games have some sort of a collector’s edition or some special perk for preordering, but Dead Island is the first game I’ve heard of to have a special edition just for preordering. That’s right folks, to get all the goodies you don’t have to drop any extra dough, you just have to have a little faith in Techland and Deep Silver to deliver a great experience. From what we’ve seen so far, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic title.

This special edition will only be available for preorder customers at Gamestop, and don’t worry if you’ve already preordered the game, it will automatically be upgraded to the special edition. The special edition will include the original game plus the Bloodbath DLC (a $10 value) that will offer new multiplayer and single player challenges. Players will also be able to carry any experience from the DLC back into their single player or multiplayer campaign.

In addition to the DLC, players will also get an exclusive coverart and a blueprint for a exclusive weapon called the “Ripper.” If it’s anything like the Dead Space weapon of the same name, it’s sure to be quite gruesome.
