Mirrors Edge was a great game, there’s no denying that, however it wasn’t good enough to instantly warrant a sequel, and the rest is history in what could be best described as a story full of negative turns.

There might be light at the end of the embattled games sequel tunnel however, with EA boss Frank Gibeau saying that Mirrors Edge hadn’t been killed and they were looking to bring the game back in the “right way”.

Speaking with Geoff Keighley on GTTV, Gibeau said that Mirrors Edge had not been permanently written off, and “We’re actively looking at how to bring it back in the right way.”

Gibeau went on to say that “We love that franchise. The DICE guys really created something, I think, special the first time around. You’ve got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one and that’s what we’re working on.”

When later quizzed on the inclusion of DICE’s new and impressive destruction engine, Gibeau teased that the combination would be something we could expect to see, for sure.
