Cosplay Spotlight: Starscream (Transformers: Dark of the Moon)

I know we’re pushing the envelope  by calling it gaming cosplay, but it would be a crime not to spotlight this fantastic addition to the Transformers fandom. Giant robots. Come on.  Plus, he’s totally in the latest Transformers game.  You know the one that wasn’t as good as the last one.

This hulking tribute to the beloved toys-turned-movie-stars franchise is the work of Ikariya of American Cosplay Experience. It’s not uncommon to see Autobots rumbling through the halls of Comic Con, but Decepticons seem to be few and far between. It’s refreshing to see the baddies getting some love– and who wouldn’t want to hang out with Starscream? Ikariya managed to scale down this beast into something wearable and believable, hiding himself behind layers and layers of foam and PVC.

This cosplay is 7’5″ tall and 7’5″ wide and will probably send your kids screaming out of the the room, if you can fit him through the door. Then there’s the glowing red eyes. That’s… kind of a big deal.

Now go buy Ikariya a beer. Or four. He’s probably going to need them after a day of wearing that thing.
