Here’s Two Minutes of Skyrim Gameplay, You’re Welcome

While The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may have had some engine issues during E3, it looks like Bethesda has managed to keep it together long enough to bless us with some HD gameplay.

It looks like everything you want + everything you need + Dragons.

My favorite is how the guy tries to fight the dragon and the dragon just NOMS him.

Although I really enjoyed Oblivion and will probably play Skyrim, I have to say TES games are way too hack-and-slash combat oriented and you don’t get many options on how to complete quests.  From this perspective, TES games are non-linear in the sense that you do anything at any moment, but each little thing to do is itself highly linear, way more than a story driven RPG.

These are great games, but a little over-hyped in my opinion.

It looks like Oblivion polished and updated, so i couldn’t be happier..just remember people, Bethesda games are buggy on release, this one will be no different, so sit back and enjoy the ranting of the outraged for a week or 2 after release date..

Considering they’re using a brand new engine for the game, those claims aren’t really valid. There’s still a possibility, but I’m sincerely hoping you’re wrong. Factoring in the scale of the game, there’s bound to be bugs, I just hope it’s nothing nearly as bad as Fallout.

You can say what you want, but I’m betting on there being a large number of bugs. In fact, because they’re starting on a whole new engine… I bet there will be more bugs :P I don’t hate on the company though… they’re one of the few who can release a game with SO MANY bugs and still rook people in with their excellent title. It’s rare that a game does so well with such a mammoth list of bugs that need patch, but Bethesda can do it.

Well there’s been plenty of games that shipped on a brand new engine and didn’t have that many bugs. I’m not denying the fact that bugs will be present, like I said before, with a game of this size it’s almost a given. I just don’t think it will be as bad as Fallout.

Don’t try to convince me otherwise either because this game is my most anticipated this year damn it ^_^

I think Oblivion is STILL very buggy, but it is really fun so it compensates the annoyances.  Hopefully Skyrim will be much more polished in that aspect; no constant crashes to desktop or in-game glitches.

Also, though the graphics don’t look as impressive as, say, The Witcher 2, I hope this new engine is properly optimized and runs smoothly.  Most games with good graphics should not be as taxing on modern computer hardware, but a lot of times developers don’t do a very good job optimizing their code and just take the brute-force approach.  On the other hand, if this is coming out on hardware like that of the PS3 and X360, then any PC should run it fine on higher settings.  What I am wondering about, though, is performance when pushing the engine to the limit which according to previous interviews will be possible, as in Oblivion.

It all depends on how much effort they put into their PC version. While I know they respect the PC community, I know they’re going to at least at first, cater to the console gamers and get things to a base line before they go about optimizing for the PC. That said, the game will at least be stable (hopefully, lol) and a blast to play while they work on further tweaks to get more out of the PC build… or hey… you could always just wait for a mod that updates all the visuals and things…. as there will no doubt be someone out there who believes the game can benefit from such work.

This is the same tired XBOX footage that we’ve been seeing for 6 months now. Where is the big ComiCon presentation for this thing? Or are they in the back playing Terraria with Notch or what?
