Cosplay Spotlight: Siren (Final Fantasy VIII)
Normally, if I see girls wearing nothing but feathers, I assume they’re lost and confused after wandering off from the Las Vegas strip– and then I whine for a bit about it. When you tell me that the girl wearing a bikini made of plumage is actually cosplaying as Siren from Final Fantasy VIII, I shut the hell up and commence the respecting. Etaru Kaumoto of ACP took a concept that appeared virtually impossible to fabricate and, despite the many physics hurdles I’m sure she jumped,brought it to life. This costume is completely hand-crafted and each feather was custom-dyed to create a believable, yet wearable ensemble.
Personally, this costume looks like it might just blow away with the wind if you’re not careful, but Etaru manages to keep this thing comfortable and in one place. Perhaps that’s the greatest achievement of all.
It’s an oldie, but a goodie. Marvel!
