Cosplay Spotlight: Ultros (Final Fantasy VI)
Sometimes, a cosplay catches my eye that has nothing to do with piles of craft foam armor or hours of intricate beading. Sometimes, it’s just a costume that reduces me to a giggling pile of girl on the floor. This happens to be one of those times. Made by Kapalaka and worn by Tham of American Cosplay Paradise, this cut-out of Ultros had me sitting here, staring at my screen as I tried to figure out whether or not the image was Photoshopped. It was exactly what I wanted it to be: a girl wearing black spandex, carrying around a flat Ultros. Ta-freaking-daa. Best day ever.
This is a reminder that you don’t need to be an expert at sewing in order to contribute to the cosplay world. If you own poster board and a printer, you’re minutes away from great success.
