Stocks in Fingerprints and Dust Plummet as Xbox Switches to Matte-Only Finish
More bad news amidst these tough economic times: if you’ve invested in dust or fingerprints recently it might be high time to sell, sell, sell.
Microsoft will be ditching the gloss paint finish on all future Xbox 360 consoles over the coming weeks. As such, analysts are predicting a huge trough in demand for dust and fingerprints, and they may even completely disappear. Bankruptcy is unlikely although Sony’s PlayStation 3 has also switched to matte.
“We are actively transitioning all our Xbox 360 S consoles to a matte finish,” said Major Nelson, Xbox spokesperson. “The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don’t wait much longer.”
