Rift Reveals More Information on Solo and Duo Dungeons

As Rift marches ever closer to its 1.5 Ashes of History patch, Trion has unveiled some more details on the Chronicles feature – dungeons able to be soloed or completed in tandem by groups of two.

The Ashes of History update will allow players to experiences Telara’s narrative in story-driven instances by themselves or with a friend. The first of these instances is the Chronicle of Attunement, which becomes available at level 50 and sets your character on the path to Planar Attunement while combating the servants of Regulos.

The second and third Chronicles require 2 players, or one ‘very’ well geared Ascended, and will see you journey to Greenscale’s Blight to engage Prince Hylas and Greenscale himself, or alternatively walk through the gates of Hammerknell in search of a missing band of adventurers.

    Time to think out of the box and make a level 50 – 60 zone imo.

    It is soloable if you know how to play your class and you gear up a bit. You dont need raid level gear or anything but you can’t solo it just after hitting the level cap. A pair of fresh 50s could probably do it without much difficulty though. I have been playing this content on the public test shard and my raid geared rogue was barely being scratched as I soloed all of this content so I would imagine it would be a challenge to solo in dungeon gear but very possible.

      That is such hope-inspiring news.  I am a veteran MMORPG nut, and I was hoping that smarts and build-savvy would bridge the “duo-to-solo” gap.  I’ve heard from “other testers” that soloability required raid gear, but I intend to have a build (I’m a warrior, I have lots of durable options) specifically set up to solo these, and if my “all 48-50 blues” tanking gear level requires some duo-ing of chronicles for plaque gear at first, I can live with that, so long as it’s all attainable.
