Stuff That Never Gets Old: Cloud’s Crazy Dreams, All of Them
Final Fantasy VII is something of a phenomenon. It’s one of the most popular video games of all time and, for many, was the beginning of their torrid love affair with those wacky-yet-loveable Japanese RPGs. Since 1997, its enamored audience can’t seem to get enough of it. Now, over a decade later, we’re still deprived the re-make we all hunger for (though we’ve got movies and spin-offs coming out of our ears). But once again, the internet comes through. It takes a true fan to be able to mock an obsession so thoroughly. So long ago, before herp or derp came into being, these videos appeared. HeWhoWalksWithTigers ripped copious amounts of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children footage and created the “Cloud’s Dream” series years ago, which is probably why I didn’t do all too well on my SATs– I couldn’t get my act together long enough to turn off these damn videos. You’ll see why after you watch them. All of them.
One tiny note: if the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) passes, then these videos will be perhaps the biggest violators in history because holy mother of copyright infringement, Batman– these are giant homages to fantastically hilarious movies and memes. Remember when the “Rejected” cartoons were the rage? Or the GI Joe parodies? Yeah, they’re all here. And random cats.
