Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter? Sure, Why Not?

The versus games are starting to show up everywhere.  Just a few years ago, the fighting genre was all but dead, that is, until Capcom released Street Fighter IV.  Now fighters are making a huge comeback and their parent companies are partnering up.  We’ve seen Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, Marvel vs Capcom and soon Street Fighter x Tekken.  That makes this tweet from Ed Boon carry much more weight.

Seth Killian is a Community Manager at Capcom, working closely with the publisher’s fighting game franchises.  Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, has already released one crossover game, and with Capcom’s constant crossovers in the pipe, it is safe to assume that, even if this is a joke, this game will happen at some point.  The possibilities are very exciting.  Chun Li killing Raiden with those thunder thighs?  Sign me up!

Currently, nothing is officially announced so this is all speculation, but exciting no matter how you look at it.  We will update you as soon as we hear something definitive.
