BioWare and Razer Partner to Give Earth Mass Effect 3 Gear

We might never know which store on the Citadel is actually Commander Shepard’s favorite, but we certainly can make a guess at what computer peripherals manufacturer he prefers.

With the release of Mass Effect 3 growing ever closer, Razer has announced a partnership with BioWare to release Mass Effect branded versions of Razer’s Imperator gaming mouse, Vespula dual-sided gaming mouse mat, BlackWidow Ultimate gaming keyboard, Onza Tournament Edition Xbox 360 controller, and Chimaera wireless gaming headset. These products won’t be any different technologically from their non-Normandy themed variants, but will be sporting a sleek black and red color scheme with the iconic N7 logo emblazoned proudly on them.

Razer will also be offering an iPhone protection case and laptop messenger bag with the same theme, just in case you didn’t have enough excuses to throw money at them like they are an Asari consort. Our own Stephanie Gutowski, who I’m fairly certain would replace Talos with Mass Effect as one of the Nine Divines, gave Razer’s BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth keyboard a warm endorsement, and the other equipment getting a fresh coat of Mass Effect paint are among Razer’s upper echelon of products, so you’ll probably have to find some pretty awesome secrets to sell to the Shadow Broker if you want them all.

I have to admit, while I’m generally not one to get all gushy over game tie-in hardware, these are some nice looking pieces of equipment and pretty much guaranteed to make a bajillion credits in the wake of whatever ludicrous amount of sales Mass Effect 3 ends up with. Don’t believe me?

Joker, bring up the photos.

If your whistle is significantly whetted, or wetted- I never could figure out which, you can pre-order any of these products at Razer’s website in antici… pation for their March 2012 shipping dates. As is current gaming tradition, people who pre-order are rewarded with codes for a few in game items, including a Collector assault rifle.

Nice to see Razor making better looking mice. Most of their mice are so small and slender you’d think they were for overly feminine women.
