New Amnesia Game Being Hinted By Frictional – Releasing Fall 2012?

Amnesia: The Dark Descent has been an exceptionally popular indie game. It is rare that the title from Frictional Games is spoken about without mentioning the pants-soiling, edge of your seat fear that comes with it. When I’m out and about talking to random gamers, Amnesia works its way into more conversations than most big budget games out there. So its easy to understand why fans are so excited about the teaser site that has recently shown up at NextFricitionalGame.com. The site shows some graphic art with a dismembered body hanging inside of a bloody tunnel.

Clicking around the site allows fans to find additional hints about the game. A new picture was also found that had a series of letters encoded in it: “P F C I N C M I O I S G G.” Most are decoding this to mean “GIF PICS COMING”, hinting at more clues in the near future. There is also a Google maps link that leads viewers to a map of China, possibly indicating the location of the next game. More importantly, a clue in the image leads to targeted release date of Fall 2012.
Back in 2007, Frictional registered the domain name TheDarkSwarm.com and updated it in September of 2011. This domain links to the new teaser site and could give more hints to the title of the upcoming game. Visiting TheDarkSwarm.com will lead you to a “work in progress” site that states it is currently not available but has a ticker at the bottom counting up each second. Soon enough, if not already, fans will be dissecting every bit of information they can from that site, as well. Regardless of what all of this means, it is clear that Frictional Games knows how to keep gamers engaged and ready for more.
You can see the site at NextFrictionalGame.com and join in the hunt for more information about the game, release date and location while partaking in some terribly creepy artwork.
