Piranha Releases First MechWarrior Online Teaser Trailer

Ye gods! Piranha has released the first MechWarrior Online trailer, allowing us just a few savory glances of what’s to come. The trailer’s just a little over a minute of a cutscene of some lucky soul piloting an Atlas, about to head out from the dropship to his mission below. Sorry guys, no gameplay footage of mechs and gun porn…em… battle just yet. Still, you can get a good feel of the style of the game just from the trailer… and it’s so… so… pretty. And good god, that 1:30 of cutscene just makes you want more…

The moment I heard the all too familiar synthetic female voice reassuring the pilot that all systems were a go, I was blindsided by nostalgia and I knew instantly that I was ready to jump back behind the seat of a mech. Anybody with me? Let’s just hope that MechWarrior Online lives up to the legacy of the mech games of the nineties.
