The PlayStation Network may not be as successful a platform as the Xbox Live Arcade, but that isn’t for a lack of great content. If you happen to have missed out on some of the Sony marketplace’s finest titles, now might be a good time to refill your virtual wallet.
Starting today, May 8, and lasting for a week, all of developer Q-Games‘ PSN offerings will be heavily discounted. Just how much money can gamers save on the company’s library? Here’s a breakdown, in order from earliest release to the latest:
- PixelJunk Monsters: Originally $9.99, now $1.00
- PixelJunk Eden: Originally $9.99, now $1.00
- PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe: Originally $9.99, now $1.00
- PixelJunk Shooter: Originally $9.99, now $1.00
- PixelJunk Shooter 2: Originally $9.99, now $4.99
- PixelJunk SideScroller: Originally $9.99, now $4.99
This incredible sale is not only in honor of the tenth anniversary of Q-Games, but also a smart way to bolster anticipation for the developer’s newest title, PixelJunk 4am, which debuts on the PSN on May 15. If you happen to live in the San Francisco area and are 21 or over, you can further join in the festivities. Sony will be hosting a community event on Thursday, May 10 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Harlot in San Francisco for you to test out the game. The first 75 to show up will also receive a free copy of PixelJunk 4am, so be sure to get in line early.
Whether or not Q-Games has been on your radar, this is a great time to pick up some of the company’s excellent releases. PixelJunk Shooter has always been one of my favorite PSN titles that I go back to every now and then, and it is an absolute steal for only a dollar. While not every title on the list is as impeccable, they each touch on a different genre with a great minimalist style, and with such a low barrier of entry you can’t go wrong with any of the developer’s titles.
