Beginning back on April 18, 2012, games on the Xbox 360 have been treated to a promotional campaign called Arcade NEXT, which introduces four new titles to the Xbox Live Arcade that incorporate, among other things, new visual fidelity and 400 achievement points for each game (increased from the standard 200). Previous titles introduced during this month-long promotion include the critically-acclaimed Trials Evolution, Bloodforge and Fable Heroes. The finale of Arcade NEXT will be capped off with a live streaming of  Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition on May 9, 2012, the day of the game’s release.

Beginning at 6 pm PST (9 EST), the live stream will be hosted by popular Youtube gamer Adam Montoya, better known as SeaNanners, who has made numerous Minecraft-related videos in the past and will be playing the first ever console release of Mojang’s massively popular sandbox game. The console port is currently exclusive to the Xbox 360. The live stream will also feature “special guests” who have yet to be formally announced, so you will need to tune in to find out who will be attending. Viewers will also be given a chance to win an Xbox 360 console signed by Markus “Notch” Persson, creator of Minecraft.

You can watch the live stream on the Xbox Live Arcade Twitch.TV page. Curious to know what a humble RipTen reviewer thought of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition? Click here to read the full review.
