Following on from the edge-of-you-seat carnage witnessed in the Dota 2 championships held in Germany last year, publisher Valve has announced this year’s event will take place during PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington.
The International Dota 2 Championships will take place on August 31 to September 2, and currently lists last year’s world champion team Na’Vi and China’s DK amongst the competing groups. No concrete prize-pool has been revealed, but if last year is any indicator, expect a generous haul after the previous $1 million grand prize.
Details are light, but we know the championships will once again be streamed in multiple languages, and more info is soon to drop. If Dota 2 is not officially released by late August, this will be the second tournament Valve has held for its action-RTS while still in development.
