In what was a surprise to me, it was announced during Nintendo’s press conference this morning that Namco Bandai would be bringing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tank! Tank! Tank! to the Wii U.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 marks the first game in the Tekken franchise to ever make its way over to a Nintendo console, and comes complete with the classic style and customization options that the series is known for, as well as online multiplayer. In addition, the game will feature exclusive content for the Wii U that will supposedly “appeal to both hardcore and casual fans of the fighting game genre”. Consider me interested!
Tank! Tank! Tank! is an arcade release that I’m even more surprised to find coming out on the Wii U, let alone any console. T!T!T! has up to four people working together to take down waves of enemies, as well as larger foes like dragons or giant robots in fully destructable arenas. With items like powerups and customizable tanks, T!T!T! is a hell of a lot of fun. I played the arcade version the few times I was able to find it, and it’s always fun. I’m actually really happy to see this title getting the recognition that it honestly deserves, and it’s definitely something I want to play on the Wii U.
