Because of both the original target audience of the Transformers brand and the setting of the upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, it can be easy to forget that the franchise is more than robots fighting each other. Granted, that idea provides plenty of entertainment, but each Autobot and Decepticon has his or her own personality, and there are unique characters behind the war devastating Cybertron. The most stalwart of them all, Optimus Prime, is a fan favorite who has been made that much more endearing by the powerful voice behind him, Peter Cullen.
Mr. Cullen will be vocing Prime once again in the upcoming release. He recently discussed why he loves the character and has been willing to play him across so many mediums for over 20 years. The video does not provide much new information about Fall of Cybertron, but it offers a nice glimpse into the man’s feelings about the iconic Autobot and what High Moon Studios is doing with the character. Though it may be wishful thinking, I believe you can subtly hear how pleased he is with this iteration of the character and the annoyance with the live-action film version during the video.
Regardless, check out the video below and catch a few snippets of the spectacular looking gameplay. For more information on why the sequel looks better in every aspect, read my preview from E3 and look forward to transforming and rolling out when Transformers: Fall of Cybertron releases on August 28 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
