In August of last year, Reef Entertainment acquired the rights to a Rambo videogame. Since then they’ve been suspiciously quiet. Now the UK-based developer confirms that Rambo: The Video Game is coming soon to PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. As a fan of Sylvester Stallone’s famous veteran, I can only hope for the best. As someone who knows a thing or two about videogames, I know that when a developer whose biggest accomplishments are porting Rogue Trooper and Sniper Elite to the Nintendo Wii are working on a licensed game in secret, I should probably expect the worst.
I don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade and I’m right there with you in hoping that Rambo: The Video Game is as kick-ass as the films that inspired it. We’ll know more when Reef shows off a first look at the game at the upcoming Gamescom Expo in Cologne, Germany in August. It just so happens that Gamescom takes place shortly after my birthday and all I want is a spectacular Rambo game. No pressure, Reef.
