2D run-and-gun Shoot Many Robots came out this past March, and Chris Carlson gave it a shining review which you can read over here. Today, it’s announced that the game is moving into the free-to-play, PvP space with Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings. Developed by Demiurge Studios, the run-and-gun game goes online with deathmatches focused around dropping opponents into toilets.

Lead designer Will Jennings describes the game as this:

“We’re taking our favorite parts of Shoot Many Robots and stirring in PvP competition and gameplay that’s constantly evolving… It’s like a big tasty vegetarian stew with lots of guns in it, but also alive and mutating and fighting other soups. While I’ve got notebooks full of weapons, special moves, and pants I can’t wait to add, what’s really exciting is getting to hear from players in the earliest stages of the game’s development and giving them what they’re asking for, sometimes in the very next weekly update.”

The title will be a PC exclusive released through Steam, and while no release date has been announced, you can try a sip of the soup now by signing up for the beta here.
