After a year and a half of beta testing, the “Cold Stream” campaign for Left 4 Dead 2 is finally released- at least partially. Steam users will have noticed by now that the free DLC has automatically downloaded to their PCs and is ready to jump into. On the other hand, Xbox 360 users don’t yet have the option as the campaign has been delayed for one more week.

The DLC itself is a rather meaty piece of gaming as it contains not only the eponymous “Cold Stream,” but also plops in four campaigns from the original Left 4 Dead. Here’s a fan-made trailer of “Cold Stream” based on the beta that shows off a bit of the environments:

In additional L4D news, the entire cast of the L4D series will be available as characters in the 360 version of Minecraft and accessible in the recently released Source Filmmaker, allowing players to either build elaborate anti-zombie fortresses in the former or continue to create weird, goofy mini-movies with the latter.
