In the before-time, in the long, long ago, there was a game that captured unknowable numbers of hours of free (and not really so free) time. Sure, people still play Counter-Strike, but the community has tapered off a bit. Valve is hoping to recapture that magic with the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveAs of right now, the game is available for pre-order on Steam in advance of its August 21 release date.

Those that do take advantage will get the customary 10% discount off the retail price of $14.99. Additionally, each early sale comes with access to the beta beginning on August 14 so you can start to get reacquainted with the upgraded classic content and the new modes and maps. But, wait. That’s not all.

Right now, you can nab everything tied to the Counter-Strike name in a four-title bundle during the Steam MidWeek Madness Sale. The Counter-Strike Complete collection includes Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike Source and a pre-0rder for Counter-Strike: GO. If you were to purchase these separately at their usual price, they would run you a total of $54.96. Through 7 PM EST tomorrow (Thursday August 9, 2012), you can grab the whole set for a mere $18.69.

Go ahead. Embrace your inner Jack Bauer.
