While I usually only like to feature free indie games on the Under the Radar series after I’ve had time to play it and say something about it, there are a few which I feel quite confident in recommending right away (i.e. I Wanna Be The Guy: Gaiden). Zinieth is one of those rare examples where after playing it for about half an hour, I can confidently tell everyone with a PC to go out and pick up this title now.

The proof-of-concept game is described by its student-team creators “to celebrate speed, movement and twitter.” Players are placed in the role of a hat-wearing character whose mech allows him to skate at really high speeds across a cell-shaded environment. Mechanics include grinding, wall running, and sweet jumps. Here’s the release trailer, which will give you a better idea of what the game’s about:

While the game can be played with the keyboard, but I highly suggest following the opening splash screen’s advice and using a gamepad. You can pick up a copy for either Mac or PC here.
