The aliens are coming! The aliens are coming!
If you can’t wait two weeks to get your hands on Firaxis‘ masterful update to the classic XCOM series (and, if you read my preview, you know you should be excited), 2K Games has some good news for you. Today, PC players will be able to nab a demo of the extraterrestrial invasion sim on Steam.
The demo will cover two tutorial missions and the basics of the ant-farm style base building features. Having played a larger preview build, I can tell you that it will not take you long to experience everything the demo has to offer, but you are unlikely to want to put it down. The PC version supports both mouse and keyboard and gamepad controls. If you can’t wait for a console demo, and you have a PC capable of running XCOM: Enemy Unknown, you might want to head on over to Steam and grab it.
The invasion begins on October 9 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can read up on our conversation with Lead Designer Jake Solomon and Lead Producer Garth DeAngelis here.
