Oh, what a night! Last evening I had the privilege of attending the midnight launch party for Halo 4 at the Microsoft Store in Seattle, WA. I spent some time with the queued fans, took snaps of every last inch of Halo art inside the 343 Industries’ demo tent, met the world’s most adorable Master Chief and even got myself a slice of free pizza. Among the highlights were a giant Warthog on display in the parking lot and a fully costumed Master Chief taking photos with attendees.
The first 1,000 people were given swag bags, each with a coffee thermos, pen, Xbox Live Master Chief skin download codes, set of dog tags, t-shirt, Master Chief art print, and *gasp* a bottle of Mountain Dew and a bag of Doritos (which, of course, as a working games journalist I’m now legally obligated to throw away, ha).
I also snagged an interview with 343 Industries creative director Josh Holmes about the “Forward Unto Dawn” campaign, discussing some of the work that went into creating the five part video series and what the future may hold for live action Halo. Stay tuned!
