Apparently, my subconscious was determined to make sure I didn’t get any sleep last night, so I ended up playing The Path, F.E.A.R. 2, and then following a series of links on Wikipedia that led me to everything from number stations, murder mysteries with paranormal theories, and then the Zodiac Killer. So you can imagine the joyous yelp my lizard brain let out when I discovered Ether One. The game seems like another entry into what I’ve dubbed the FPH (first-person horror) genre that has included such games as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and Anna. Developer White Paper Games describes the game as:

…the first entry in a two part first person Adventure Game that flows on science fiction undertones in order to explore the importance and fragility of human memories.

Set in the broken mental structures of a mysterious woman named Jean’s mind you will take on the role of a Restorer, an individual who can enter a persons [sic] memories in order to fix and mend them.

Here’s a gameplay video of Ether One:

Ether One is aiming for an early 2013 release on PC and Mac. You can make sure it appears on Steam by giving them a thumbs up over at their Steam Greenlight page here.
