In a press release issued by EA Games today, the company revealed that the third installment of their Dead Space franchise will feature Kinect Co-Op Voice commands, a first for the Microsoft console and its Kinect counterpart.

Steve Papoutsis, a man with many titles (namingly Dead Space 3 Executive Producer, VP, and General Manager of Visceral Games) added the following:

“The voice commands in Dead Space 3 give players a unique way to take down the terror, whether they choose to face the Necromorphs alone in single-player, or alongside a friend with drop-in / drop-out co-op … Dead Space 3 delivers the action-horror experience our fans have come to know and love. And with the ability to survive the adventure alone, with a friend, or with Kinect, we’re excited about extending the spine-tingling Dead Space experience to a whole new audience of players.”

I’m guessing that “drop in / drop out” means I can drop into a friends game and start screaming obscenities long enough to distract him then laugh hysterically while he gets mauled to death giving me plenty of time to drop out and make a run for it. Sounds like a good time to me.
