Big news for Zelda fans out of Nintendo Direct. The first is that Wind Waker will be receiving an HD remake for Wii U and coming out this fall for the system. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata spoke candidly about how Gamecube’s install base wasn’t very large and may have resulted in many players missing out on the experience. The next big piece of news is about the new Zelda game for the Wii U. While no images or footage was shown, producer Eiji Aonuma announced that they are going to attempt some important design changes. He specifically spoke about not having to the dungeons in a specific order and possible multiplayer integration. The second point isn’t too surprising, as Nintendo is clearly still going for the ‘people playing together’ with Wii U, but changes to the base game design of Zelda is something I’ve both longed feared and desired. Also, let’s bring back real multiplayer with the Tingle Tuner, am I right?! I’ll take your silence as a ‘no.’
