Andrew Podolsky, Editor (US)

Andrew Podolsky is an Editor at Ripten.com. He can often be found at high-profile videogame industry events looking for the next big scoop. In addition to his editorial responsibilities, he continues to contribute high quality reviews, interviews, and previews.

Andrew has been a part of the publishing world for many years, first as the editor of his high school literary magazine, and then as a contributing writer for his college newspaper. Following graduation from UC Berkeley as an English major, he worked as an editorial intern for the East Bay community newspaper, The Alameda Sun, covering local news and arts.

In 2007, Andrew became a freelance writer, writing dozens of game previews for the major gaming hub 1up.com. He joined Ripten.com in July 2007 and has been an integral part of the site’s growth and success ever since.

Andrew owns one of each current generation gaming console, which he claims are solely used for work purposes. He also has a gaming PC, but it’s a bit behind the times and can’t possibly run Crysis. He is proficient at Guitar Hero, regularly playing on Hard (but not Expert), and his favorite old-school game series is Castlevania.

His favorite gaming genres include action games, first and third person shooters, real time and turn based strategy games, as well as action-adventure platformers. He lives with his girlfriend Heather and a noisy white cat named Antigone.
