2kboston

I hope you aren’t squeamish, because the level of violence in this game is enough to make anyone… squeam! Yeah, that’s right, I made up a word. Ninja Gaiden 2 is shaping up to be one of the goriest titles this side of Soldier of Fortune. I’m sure it won’t be long until we start getting backlash from the same outlets who opposed Manhunt 2 and Hot Coffee. We love us some gratuitous violence, please don’t reform us Hillary!

rockband_drums.jpg

Videos have started making their way across the interwebs on how to hack your Rock Band drums to work with your PC. The reason this gets us so excited is the potential for a freeware version of “Drumer Hero”. Something that would let us jam to our favorite tracks on the PC without having to pay $3 for each new song. The steps on how to hack your 360 controller are slightly harder than it’s PS3 counterpart. Read on for the steps… Read more…

ps3_phone.jpg

That’s right folks, wrap your minds around this — a phone that features Playstation buttons, has a Microsoft Windows operating system, and plays Nintendo games. Confused yet? How about the fact that the phone was made in “Koera” — No, that’s not a typo, that’s what is printed on the phone. Read more…

It’s hard to stay faithful! While this review may not be about fidelity issues, it is about the fact that Silent Hill: Origins stays true to what made the series great. It captures the whole Middle America town setting, while keeping faithful to the Point-and-Click elements which the genre is known for. Read more…

In this months issue of EGM’s Rumor Mill, Quarterman reported that Konami is developing another Metal Gear game for the PSP. Apparently it isn’t going to be a spin off such as we’ve seen from Portable Ops. The new title is said to “Hearken back to the early days”. Read more…

Reality, what does the word mean to you? Does it equate to the sum of everything you perceive as living and organic? Or perhaps it’s the quotient of all life’s experiences? Regardless, more often than not, the real world offers an intangible connection that our imaginations do not.

Still every now and again the lines get blurred to the point where it becomes difficult to distinguish reality from fiction. It’s this undefined line that so many developers over the years have strived for, and yet so few have achieved. Read more…

A customer was recently told by Sony that the dust in his PS3 was possibly an “act of God”. Since the launch of the PS3, we’ve heard very few reports of consumers having any sort of technical problems with their consoles, but this makes news of Ive’s plight all the more disconcerting. Read more…

uncharted_header.jpg

The idea of an “every man” action hero who hasn’t yet realized what he’s capable of isn’t exactly a new concept. In fact, it is one that dates back to biblical references of David and Goliath.

The logic is simple — people empathize more with characters they can relate to, and this train of thought is the very foundation for developer Naughty Dog’s wildly anticipated November 19th release of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Read more…

Hot coffee burns Rockstar’s wallet

Take Two announced today that they are prepared to settle all consumer class action lawsuits currently pending. Under the terms of the settlement, in order to claim benefits, class members must have bought a copy of the game before July 20th 2005, and attest to the fact that they would not have bought the game had they known users could modify the content. hellgate_london_header.jpg

Hello, my name is Josh, and I’m an addict. The American Medical Association recently dismissed video game addiction by brushing it under the “further study needed” carpet. Had the proceedings gone the other way, gamers could have been diagnosed with a disease and treated accordingly.

Lucky thing the good doctors over at the AMA never got their hands on Hellgate, or I might be sitting in a shrink’s office instead of writing this review. Yeah, it’s that addicting. Read more…

The origin of this rumor stems from a post on EvilAvatar.com by Dr. Finger, a prominent member of the community. Dr. Finger claims that he spoke to a “contact” of his at his local Target store. Apparently, an internal memo was released stating that all Target stores are to stop selling Manhunt 2, and that any copies the store has are to be returned to Take 2. Read more…

Dementium is a horror title, and I was afraid of a lot of things while playing through this game, unfortunately none of them were intentional. For instance, I was afraid that I would soon suffer from carpal tunnel due to the game’s control scheme. Read more…
