I’m sure it won’t be long until we start getting backlash from the same outlets who opposed Manhunt 2 and Hot Coffee. We love us some gratuitous violence, please don’t reform us Hillary!

Crysis Review
by Josh Pankratz on November 16, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Reality, what does the word mean to you? Does it equate to the sum of everything you perceive as living and organic? Or perhaps it’s the quotient of all life’s experiences? Regardless, more often than not, the real world offers an intangible connection that our imaginations do not.
Still every now and again the lines get blurred to the point where it becomes difficult to distinguish reality from fiction. It’s this undefined line that so many developers over the years have strived for, and yet so few have achieved. Read more…

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Impressions
by Josh Pankratz on November 10, 2007 at 2:54 am
The idea of an “every man” action hero who hasn’t yet realized what he’s capable of isn’t exactly a new concept. In fact, it is one that dates back to biblical references of David and Goliath.
The logic is simple — people empathize more with characters they can relate to, and this train of thought is the very foundation for developer Naughty Dog’s wildly anticipated November 19th release of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Read more…

PC Review – Hellgate: London
by Josh Pankratz on November 5, 2007 at 11:39 pm
Hello, my name is Josh, and I’m an addict. The American Medical Association recently dismissed video game addiction by brushing it under the “further study needed” carpet. Had the proceedings gone the other way, gamers could have been diagnosed with a disease and treated accordingly.
Lucky thing the good doctors over at the AMA never got their hands on Hellgate, or I might be sitting in a shrink’s office instead of writing this review. Yeah, it’s that addicting. Read more…
