SEGA Says Sonic Colors is “What Fans Have Been Asking For”

Among gamers, the praise and disdain for Sonic Unleashed were fairly uniform. The daytime running stages seemed to get it right, delivering to people the sort of gameplay they wanted from a 3D Sonic title. Meanwhile, the nighttime werehog stages seemed to be the worst possible exploit of a loophole one could imagine.

Where Does Microsoft Currently Stand on 3D?

Sony made it clear at E3 that, in addition to Move, their next big push for PlayStation is for 3D. They were also unfortunately undermined just hours prior to their press conference by Nintendo decrying the need for “goofy glasses” as they rolled out their answer to three-dimensional prayers with the 3DS.

But where does Microsoft stand in all this?

L.A. Craigslist Loaded with E3 ‘Missed Connections’

While certainly, E3 is a place people will go to meet people– say, one game developer, journalist, etc. hoping to catch up with another they’ve only spoken with online, for example– it has typically not been perceived as an event people go to in order to really meet people.

That is, until now.

Sakamoto: Samus is “Immature and Unprofessional,” Speaks of Challenging Expectations

Since arriving on the scene in 1986, there has been plenty of time for fans of the Metroid franchise to develop how they perceive the series’ protagonist, Samus Aran. Some may find her to be a cold, efficient warrior woman who always gets the job done, yet still has enough humanity about her to sympathize with the one baby Metroid left after the annihilation of the rest of the species.

However, Producer and chief Metroid designer Yoshio Sakamoto has a somewhat different perception of the Power Suited bounty hunter.

Skyward Sword Almost Went on Without MotionPlus

The concept seemed so simple, it was as though it were basic math.

Just as 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, it seemed that it would follow that Wii + MotionPlus + Zelda = Wii Zelda with MotionPlus. And yet, though that is what nearly everyone expected when Nintendo first announced the add-on for the Wii Remote, it very nearly did not come to be.

Win SEGA’s Sonic 4 Video Contest for a Trip to SEGA Japan

Perhaps the timing of this is a little awkward.

You see, for years now, there have been many a complaint about SEGA’s handling of the once-prominent Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, particularly where the games are concerned. And many people have dreamed of having the simple opportunity to be able to go right up to SEGA’s Japanese headquarters and tell them every last thing that is wrong with Sonic, and what can be done to fix it.

Nintendo Remains “Very Much Committed” to Supporting DS

Tweet In the past, Nintendo has shown great commitment to supporting their older hardware after releasing newer, more advanced technology. Skyward Sword’s Link is Still Not a Lefty

Bringing The Legend of Zelda into the realm of the Wii has no doubt been a bit of a challenge for Nintendo’s developers. And part of that challenge is in the fact that, for twenty years, series protagonist Link had always been depicted as a left-handed individual. Yet, with most Wii users being right-handed, a decision had to be made to address the awkwardness of many players controlling Link’s left with their right.

SEGA Celebrates 19 Years of Sonic with Mega SEGA Sale

Wednesday, June 23rd will mark the 19th birthday of Sonic the Hedgehog, designated as such by the American and European release of the blue blur’s titular debut on the SEGA Genesis and Mega Drive (fun fact: Sonic 1 wasn’t released in Japan until three days later, a fact fans sometimes exploit in “he should be Robotnik, because that’s what he was called first” arguments). To celebrate, SEGA is making like Walmart and rolling back prices on a bunch of their downloadable games and content. And it’s not just Sonic stuff, either.
