Junkboy’s Pixelated Demakes Make For Incredible Fan-Art

Despite the heavy focus a lot of gamers tend to put on graphics in this day and age, I will always stand by the idea that games can be fun and enjoyable without having flashy, realistic, “next-gen” graphics. Way of the Pixel member & pixel artist Junkboy can probably back me up on this too, as he has created over twenty pixelated video game “demake” pieces that support such an idea.

Thor: The Video Game Is A Thing That Exists

In a move that surprises absolutely nobody, Marvel and Sega are planning to release a Thor video game to coincide with the release of the film in Summer of 2011. While I have no information on the game besides the trailer to go on, if Iron Man & other comic-to-movie video games are any indication, this game won’t be so great.

First Image From DiRT 3, Trailer Premiering This Weekend

If you played the past few DiRT games, chances are that you enjoy the series. I’ve loved the past two games, and while Colin McRae’s sudden death in 2007 certainly put a hamper on things, the second game was a lovely tribute to the rally driver. That said, I’m beyond excited to see this first image from DiRT 3, courtesy of Codemasters’s Comm. Director, Richard Eddy.

Did DJ Hero Increase DJ Equipment Sales?

Tweet For all of the grief I give Activision for beating and murdering the once-special Guitar Hero franchise, DJ Hero was tons of fun. I’ve got a weird love for mashups, even if the two songs on their own are terrible, so DJ Hero’s mashups were right up my alley- but that doesn’t mean I’m [...]

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future Coming September 12th

My favorite series on the DS, without a doubt, is Professor Layton. I’m a sucker for clever puzzles and an even more clever story, so Layton & Luke’s adventures are right up my alley, but I don’t know if I can wait ‘ til September 20th to continue the series. Oh hey, it looks like I might not have to!

Sonic Colors Pre-Order Bonus Doesn’t Make You Faster

When I pre-ordered Scribblenauts for the DS last year, the game came with an awesome bonus; a rooster hat similar to the one Max wears in-game. I love that hat- I still wear it periodically, even. When I go in to GameStop next week to preorder Sonic Colors, the Sonic wig they gave me will surely go nicely with my hat.

Sony: Playstation Move “Priced For Profit”

Sony’s newest foray into motion controlled gaming is the Playstation Move. In order to use the Playstation Move, you must have a Playstation Eye and at least a Wand controller, though some games require a nunchuck as well. These peripherals cost a grand total of $130 minimum for one person. That said, Sony wants you to know that this pricing is done so they can profit from it. Duuuuuuh.

New MediEvil Game Coming To PSP, PS3?

Tweet It’s been about 10 years since we’ve seen an original MediEvil game, even though we got a PSP remake in 2005 and a PSN port in 2007. Sony’s popular platformer hasn’t been through many revisions or updates lately, despite the fact that I know many people who would love to jump into Sir Dan’s [...]

Dead Space Ignition Coming to XBLA & PSN As A Dead Space 2 Prequel

Despite the fact that I jump whenever someone says “boo”, I’m really looking forward to Dead Space 2. Visceral’s third-person space shooter is looking like a great sequel to one of 2008′s most popular games, and for a shooter, it has a rather gripping story behind it. Visceral and EA are looking to extend this story with the downloadable prequel Dead Space Ignition.
