Foreign Pringles Commercial Proves Video Games Are More Fun with Crunch and Nudity
by Chad Lakkis on November 18, 2009 at 10:02 pm
In a contrasting string of commercials, Pringles stack their chip against bagged brand competitors. The premise is simple — “not every chip gets you to the crunch.”
And as you’ll see in the Silent Hill video game scenario below, when you finally do get to the “crunch”, a strip teasing Lara Croft will be waiting. The “squelching” non-crunch counterpart is, well, not as entertaining. Enjoy. Read more…

Darksiders: Wrath of War Story Walkthrough Video
by Chad Lakkis on November 17, 2009 at 1:02 pm
Joe Madueira’s “manga meets graffiti” art style created an Uncanny X-Men comic book craze in the 90s, and his work as Vigil Games’ Creative Director on the company’s action adventure game titled “Darksiders: Wrath of War” looks to be loaded with the same stylistic flare.
If slaying gigantic monsters as a lone horsemen in a sandbox style post apocalyptic world sounds like a good time, you’re going to want to add this title to your watch list. The team at Vigil has done an amazing job translating Madueria’s style into a video game environment, and as someone who still has stacks of his comics stashed away in my basement, I’m very interested in giving this game a spin.
Darksiders will be available on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles and is scheduled to hit stores January 5th, 2010. In the mean time, check out the video walkthrough below narrated by Vigil Games’ Daniel Isaac for a glimpse into the world of Darksiders’ protagonist “War” and his trusty steed “Ruin”. Read more…

by Chad Lakkis on November 17, 2009 at 12:16 am
Nintendo Wii’s New Super Mario Bros. Wii title has been on store shelves for less than two days now, and there are already a few level editors out there. The above 1-1 remake is far from perfect, but considering the game hasn’t been out long at all and the modder himself claims it was 2AM when he made it, we should probably cut him some slack.
Check out the video below. Read more…
Modern Warfare 2 Knife Thrower Avoids Draw in Last Seconds of Multiplayer Match
by Chad Lakkis on November 16, 2009 at 3:30 pm
The last few seconds of a multiplayer team deathmatch can really suck for the players who are already dead and left with nothing to do but watch and wait. It sucks even more when you’re one of the two players left standing, and you’re facing an inevitable draw because the other bastard is no where to be found.
Well, here’s a pro tip for anyone who finds themselves in the aforementioned predicament … go John Rambo on their ass! That’s right, toss your throwing knife through the air, directly over a roof, and into the back of your opponents head. Don’t believe it’s possible? Watch the last few seconds of the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer video below. Read more…
Half-LifeVania: Half-Life 2 Castlevania Mod
by Chad Lakkis on November 16, 2009 at 3:05 pm
If you remember the 80s, there’s a good chance you spent some quality time with Konami’s Castlevania for the NES. You probably also had a cool Sony Walkman and ate lots of spooky Ghostbusters cereal while watching He-Man cartoons on the TV in your brightly colored Jams, but that’s not the point of this article.
Thanks to modder and YouTube user, M0rtanius, you can play the classic 2D side scroller in glorious Half-Life 2 3D. Get a glimpse of the level in the video below and download the mod here if you’re interested. Read more…

Square Enix announced the North American and European release date for Final Fantasy XIII utilizing the script that surfaced on the web a few weeks ago. While the release won’t be in time for Christmas, March 9, 2010 is still close enough to put a smile on my face. The five minute narrated video below features developer segments and a thirty second never before seen look at some Final Fantasy XIII in-game footage. Madden Arcade Hits XBL & PSN Thanksgiving Week
by Chad Lakkis on November 13, 2009 at 3:36 am
Some may knock the cartoony style of Madden NFL Arcade, but as a kid that grew up playing NBA Jam in the arcades, I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on Madden Arcade. The game looks fun as hell and I welcome a break from the “just how realistic can we make things look” next gen graphics conga line. Read more…

Avatar: Ignite The War Video Game Trailer
by Chad Lakkis on November 7, 2009 at 12:43 am![]()
I haven’t been following Avatar closely, outside of seeing a few movie trailers that didn’t make a lasting impression on me, but today I came across the trailer for the game below (which just so happens to be the most recent one). My first impression of what I saw (considering I didn’t remember much from the big screen counterpart) was sort of a mix between Predator and Jurassic Park. Have a look at it yourself. Read more…
Modern Warfare 2 Launch Trailer Features Eminem, Nate Dogg, and Explosions
by Chad Lakkis on November 5, 2009 at 12:27 am
I’m not a trained killing machine, but if I was this trailer would definitly make me want to go out and find one terrorist after another and continuously shove each one of them up the others ass (kind of like those little stackable dolls) until there was only one heavily constipated terrorist left. Then I’d break his arm off and beat him into the ground with it. Yup. Read more…

New Five Minute Modern Warfare 2 Video Montage Reveals Airport Terrorist Level Cinematic?
by Chad Lakkis on November 4, 2009 at 6:55 pm
Activision has just released a montage video of sorts, jam packed with bits and pieces of Modern Warfare 2 trailers and footage dating back to it’s initial announcement and teaser.
Though mostly a five minute long rehash of previously seen footage, it seems to also confirm the existence of cinematic version of the terrorist airport level. If true, this’s a great move by Infinity Ward, as it would allow those gamers who choose pass on the opportunity of playing it out first hand a means to still experience the plot element.
See for yourself at the 52 and 1:40 second marks in the trailer below. Read more…
