Nadia Oxford, Contributor (Canada)
Nadia lives in Toronto and makes a modest living as a freelance writer. Her hobbies involve checking the mailbox frantically for missing cheques and fighting her cats for their food.
Nadia’s first game system was a Coleco Vision her parents bought from some shady dude in an alley after a Maple Leafs game. The Atari 2600 attachment was purchased shortly thereafter. One of her favourite games for the system was E.T. It should be noted that Nadia suffered several high fevers as a child and the doctors believe she may have sautéed her brain.
From there, Nadia obsessed over the NES and SNES and lost all her friends except for the truest of geeks. She got married in 2001 to an American stranger and now both of them reference years by their dominating consoles, not dates. Aside from Ripten, Nadia also writes about gaming culture for 1UP.com, Next Gen, b5media and the upcoming What They Play. She reviews manga for Mania.com and recommends Osamu Tezuka’s “Phoenix” series to anyone who’ll listen (nobody).
