Newest Trailers for God of War 3, Mafia 2, Brütal Legend, and More

by Demi Adejuyigbe on December 14, 2008 at 9:28 pm

Tonight was the Spike TV VGAs, and though the show pretty much tanked as usual, I have to say that some of the footage shown during the show piqued my interest a lot.

If you didn’t see the trailers that were shown during the VGAs, you can catch every one of them after the jump, and you can even see the opening skit from the VGAs, of Jack Black having sex with various consoles above. Disturbing. Read more…

The Watercooler – 14 November 2008

by Dan Landis on November 14, 2008 at 4:04 am

The Watercooler

Warning: The Watercooler is the best thing you will see on the Internet today, mainly because it is the best thing I saw on the Internet yesterday. Be advised that The Watercooler is not necessarily videogame related (it usually won’t be), and is often silly, controversial, and/or not safe for work (NSFW). If this type of content frequently offends you, please be aware that I just warned you — if you still click through and get offended, it will be your own stupid fault. Otherwise, please continue…

Today’s Watercooler features a news report detailing the aftermath of the 2008 presidential election. The biggest problem? Obama zombies. You may have friends that are suffering just like this, and if so, you clearly need to get them help before something terrible happens to them. Read more…

Cosplay Like You’ve Never Seen: WCS 2008

by Dan Landis on July 27, 2008 at 10:08 am

My six year old niece just handed me a noise maker, and that means that 2007 will be coming to an end momentarily here on the east coast. I know that I speak for the entire staff here at Ripten in saying that we wish you all a very happy New Year and a great 2008.

2008: Year of the _____?

Have you had enough of First Person Shooters? It was such a dominant genre this year that it seemed to define what it meant to be “next-gen.” We’re not quite out of the woods yet, but 2008 promises to bring us a more diverse line-up. What games or concepts will characterize the industry as we move into the second generation proper? Read more…
