Prototype Opening Sequence Has The Power To Drop, Dislocate Jaws

by Demi Adejuyigbe on May 9, 2009 at 10:47 am

It’s becoming a bit of a trend for developers to release the opening cinematics to their games before their games release, and now I know why. Before watching this, I wasn’t that interested in Prototype, but if it’s anything like this, then this is a day one purchase for me.

The sequence follows Alex Mercer, the game’s protagonist, as he rampages through New York City, trying to deal with the mutative virus that allows him to shape-shift and absorb others. When announced, it sounded a lot like Spiderman 3, but this trailer gives me hope. It’s violent and gory, but I’m also really interested in what happens next in the sequence of events. I guess I’ll have to wait until June 9th to find out.

LittleBigPlanet: User Created 2D Side-Scrolling Shooter is Retro-Amazing

by Dylan Duarte on November 3, 2008 at 5:06 am

Since LittleBigPlanet hit retails shelves a week ago (though many people got it before then), there have been some pretty nifty levels coming out of the gaming populous. However, none of them so far have been as creative and mind-blowingly awesome as this Gradius level, fittingly titled “Libidius.jp”. Check it out after the break. Read more…

fracture-multiplayer-video-walkthrough-with-commentary-by-cliffyb-in-twenty-years

New Fracture Multiplayer footage surfaced in the form of a walkthrough. I tried really hard to watch it, and focus only on the game itself, but all I could think was “oh my God, that is going to be CliffyB in twenty years.”

Is it just me or does that guy’s over the top dude-a-riffic enthusiasm seem a bit like someone else we know? Hey, I’m all for Seth Benton, Senior Multiplayer Lead, being excited about his own product — I’m just saying that it sounds like this is the first time “SethyB” is seeing his own game in action.

Anyway, the game does look pretty “awesome”, so “totally” check it out after the jump. Read more…
