Not-So-Live: Microsoft Bans Estimated 600k User Accounts From 360 Xbox LIVE Service

In an on going effort to eliminate modded consoles from accessing their Xbox LIVE service, Microsoft has reportedly banned an estimated 600,000 accounts — a tad over one-fortieth of their LIVE subscribing customer base.
Banned users will likely still be able to use their console offline, assuming they don’t throw it into a wall or drive over it upon receiving the news.
MadWorld May Not Release in Japan… or Australia… or Germany

Sega reps won’t be showing the extreme gore-fest MadWorld at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, mostly due to the fact that it may be too extremely gore-festy for Japanese audiences. The game is being developed with a western audience in mind and will only be evaluated for a release elsewhere if it becomes a hit. Read more…

Denied Down Under: Dark Sector Banned In Australia Due To Excessive Violence

According to a recent report by IGN, the third person action game, Dark Sector, being published by D3 Publisher (who was nice enough to invite us to their GDC party) has been “refused classification” by the AGRB (Australian Game Ratings Board) due to the game’s excessive violent content.
