Namco Bandai today released the first of a series of behind the scenes videos for Ridge Racer: Unbounded.

The video features words from a few of the members of the Unbounded team, some gameplay footage and real life drifting. Check it out below.

The first Making Of video for RIDGE RACER™ Unbounded focuses on the changes made in the new branch of the legendary franchise and includes never seen before footage of the game.

Ridge Racer: Unbounded launches this March on PS3, PC and 360.

New The Last of Us Video is Full of Behind the Scenes Action

Sony today released a video which shows some of the behind the scenes work that went into creating the trailer for Naughty-Dog’s The Last of Us

In the video you get to see actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson in motion capture outfits play the roles of the two survivors and main characters of The Last of Us. Check it out below.

Uncharted 3 BTS Video Explores the Historical Inspiration Behind the Game

Sony has released the last of its behind-the-scenes videos for Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. The video features Naughty Dog Cinematic Lead Taylor Kurosaki, Nolan North (voice of Nathan Drake) and Emily Rose (voice of Elena Fisher) as they discuss the historical inspirations to U3′s story including Sir Francis Drake, Sir Lawrence of Arabia and the legend of the ‘Atlantis of the sands’.

Warner Bros. has released a behind the scenes video from F.E.A.R. 3 giving gamers an inside look at Day 1 Studios and the motion capture technology used in the game.

Lead Animator Andy Konieczny explains how movement data is captured with multiple cameras and a sensor-filled suit and how the data translates to animations of different characters in F.E.A.R. 3. Mo-cap actors Scott Sumerak and Lawrence Kern also give insight to how they prepare to take on the role of various characters in video games.

Forza 4 Developer Diary Takes A Look Into Bernese Alps

Microsoft has released the first developer’s diary for Forza Motorsport 4. The Turn 10 development team takes a trip to Switzerland and describes the process of crafting a race track in the Bernese Alps.

According to Microsoft, this is the first “in the series”. So expect more behind the scenes footage of Forza 4 before it races onto your console on October 11th.

RAGE Behind The Scenes With “The Enemies” (Video)

Bethesda has just released their fifth behind the scenes video in the six part series for RAGE.

The Enemies features the team at id Software discussing the many enemies players will encounter while playing RAGE. Enemies include; bandit clans, mutants, high-tech super soldiers and more. Check out the video below.

Killzone 3: Behind The Scenes Sneak Peek

The hype machine for Killzone 3 is starting to get into gear as the release date for Sony’s exclusive highly held sequel is less than a month away. Today, Sony and Guerrilla games is giving us a sneak peek at the Killzone 3: Behind the scenes featurette, which will come included in the Killzone 3: Helghast Edition.

Guerrilla explains “how real-life actors were transformed into virtual characters.”

Using state-of-the-art motion capture techniques, the actors’ performances were captured using reflective tracking markers worn on the face and body. Many of the props and characters they were acting off only existed inside the computer, however.

Actor Ray Winstone (Admiral Orlock), who cut his teeth on full-body performance capture in the 2007 movie adaptation of Beowulf, was undaunted by that prospect. ”It’s like going back to school in a way,” he said. “You play the scene, and you start to get your imagination back, you know?”

Co-star Malcolm McDowell (Chairman Stahl), whose video game appearances stretch back to the early nineties, was quite satisfied with the technology. “When I’m 85, I can be doing video games, because they can put a young man’s face over mine,” he joked. “And as long as I don’t do a gravelly voice, I’ll be alright!”

Go Behind-the-Scenes of Gears 2 at Epic Studios with Loads of Exclusives on Monday’s X-Play

If you’re anything like me, you love to watch behind-the-scenes footage of pretty much anything. The making of a Snickers bar? Sign me up! Alright, that might be a bit much, but this Monday’s X-Play at 8pm EST promises an all access pass inside Epic Studios with insight into the making of Gears of War 2 plus tons of exclusives, interviews, and the first look at the game’s two minute cinematic intro. Mark and Cliff share an office — who knew?

New Heavy Rain Behind The Scenes Footage

When it rains it pours, and after we revealed a selection of Heavy Rain screenshots, we were put in touch with a snippet of behind the scenes footage (though we don’t doubt that previous videos were also real-time) of what looks like the same town as was presented in the screenshots.

The following video is a tour of Quantic Dream’s studio, displaying their PlayStation 3 development of Heavy Rain. I know the dialogue is in French, but what do you expect from a French developer and a French TV show?

Before we translate what’s being said, you’ll be able to spot real-time footage (albeit low-resolution) of a dreary town surrounded by stormy weather, along with impressive facemapping technology.

[UPDATE] The content of the video has been translated (credit Raist from Neogaf) and there’s limited information on Heavy Rain itself. The only scrap we can muster is that the shadows are dynamic, along with the impression of realistic rain and wetness in the street scene. In addition, Quantic Dream’s founder, David Cage, elaborates on their goal to create authentic emotional characters:

Nowadays, video games are a media that reaches maturity. And that is starting to imply emotions, just like movies, literature or theatre. We’re trying to make people cry or laugh when they play a video game. It’s only getting started and is the goal of our industry for the upcoming years.

Behind The Scenes Trailer: Spider-Man Web of Shadows – 90 Second Extended Look

It has been some time now since I have been really excited to play a Spider-Man licensed game. As a big fan of the web slinger, I have been disappointed in the past few attempts at bringing Spidey to life in an interactive videogame environment.

The best part of being Spider-Man in a videogame should be the feeling of fighting and moving in a way you would imagine him to move. The successful Sam Rami Spider-Man movies (we forgive the third one) have only added to the expectations of wanna be webheads.

After checking out the combat and controls highlighted in the roughly 90 second behind the scenes trailer below I would be lying to you if I said I wasn’t excited to take the game for a spin and see some more. Developer Shaba Games seems to be very hard at work.

You will notice a fresh attention to detail in the form of yellowish colored wisps that emit from Spidey’s limbs as he maneuvers in mid air. While this effect is more “comic book” and less “film adaptation” I found it to be refreshing and an overall nice touch to the aerial acrobatics. And if you ever thought to yourself — I want to be able to change between red and blue Spidey and symbiote Spidey in mid air — now you can.

Ok enough bullshit from me, it is pretty obvious I liked what I saw. Check out the trailer yourself and let me know what you think.
