Capcom offering Xbox 360 Platinum Hits Triple Pack
by Rangebar Merani on August 11, 2009 at 6:30 pm
If your one of the unlucky gamers who missed out on any of these three great games, well, your luck is about to turn around. Capcom is repackaging three of their Xbox 360 platinum hits into one huge, cheap-ass bundle. Exciting, I know.
You’ll be getting Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition and Devil May Cry 4 all in one box! And the best thing about the package is that it’s dirt cheap. Yep, just $39.99 for all three games. Now at about $13.33 for each game, you can’t beat that.
Capcom is calling it the Platinum Hits Triple Pack, set to hit the Xbox 360 in September. If you missed any of the games, now is your chance to get all three in a great deal. Thanks Capcom!
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Mixtape and Video Premiere
by Rangebar Merani on July 30, 2009 at 9:58 am
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 was finally released yesterday on Xbox Live and will be hitting the PS3 in just a few weeks. I know many of you are very excited about MvC2, so while you guys are enjoying the game and brawling with the likes of Spider-Man and Wolverine vs Ryu and Mega Man, take a look and listen at the upcoming Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Mixtape coming out soon starring many well-known hip-hop rappers such as Talib Kweli, Raekwon and the Bay Area’s own, E-40.
Being a big fan of hip-hop/rap music, I was pleased to see a game publisher the likes of Capcom hook up and integrate the likes of one of their biggest games with a Mixtape featuring artists rapping about the game and it’s characters. Check out the first premiere video from the Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Mixtape dubbed “SuperHeroes” featuring Planet Asia and DJ Toure after the break.
Resident Evil 5 PC coming September, is all 3D and that
by Sam Naylor on July 16, 2009 at 9:09 am
The PC version of Capcom’s successful zombie shooter Resident Evil 5 will be coming to American audiences on September 14, and to European ones a few days later on the 18th, Capcom announced today. The game is even more bursting at the seams than the console versions: it includes a new and improved Mercenaries mode with three times more enemies, new costumes, higher resolutions, and support for NVidia’s 3D cards.
This of course means that, provided you have some silly glasses and are rich enough to have a card, you can play Resident Evil 5 as if you were at a tiny IMAX screen! You can download a benchmark tool here to see what it’s like, and if it will run on your system.
Resident Evil 4 for iPhone leaked
by Sam Naylor on July 14, 2009 at 3:16 amJapanese site AppBank spotted an iPhone version of the fantastic Resident Evil 4 on the Japanese app store, and managed to get a lot of screenshots and the above video. Of course, the app has now been pulled; most likely due to a leaked release, I’d say. The footage is pretty extensive- if this is a fake, they’ve done a brilliant job of making it look real.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming to XBLA July 29
by Sam Naylor on July 9, 2009 at 8:47 am
Destructoid reports that the full XBLA release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will happen on none other than July 29, 2009. The PSN release is not known at this point, although it is likely to be a very similar date. The game is also set to be sold at a price of 1200 MS Funbux™, and likely a similar price on the PSN but in actual Dollars/Pounds/Euros/Yen/Your currency.
I remember seeing this game in the shops when I was a kid. At the time, I wanted to buy it because it had Marvel characters in it. Now, I want to buy MvC2 because it has Capcom characters in it. Time changes things, especially the relative coolness of Ryu in my mind.
E3 09: Dead Rising 2 Trailer
by Dylan Duarte on June 3, 2009 at 12:23 amThere may be no actual gameplay footage, but the video looks awesome nonetheless. The first Dead Rising was great despite its flaws, so I’m pretty excited for this one. You’ll be playing Chuck Greene, a MotoCross champion who is likely fighting his way through Fortune City (Vegas knock-off) in search of his daughter Katey. Dead Rising 2 is scheduled to hit Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime this year.
Bionic Commando Uses His Extraordinary Gift for Menial Tasks
by Demi Adejuyigbe on May 16, 2009 at 8:15 amWhile the term “menial” doesn’t necessary apply to a fireman, everything is menial when you’ve got a bionic arm. Capcom’s advertising for Bionic Commando has gone viral, by putting Nathan Spencer into multiple jobs, including fireman, middle manager, and paperboy. Of course, he and his automaton appendage find some way to mess it up each time, but I won’t spoil that for you.
Above is the Bionic Paperboy video, and after hte jump you can see Spencer as the Bionic Fireman, and Bionic Middleman. It’s a good thing he landed on his feet as the bionic commando after going through these jobs. Read more…
Zangief, is that you?
by Sam Naylor on May 3, 2009 at 4:31 am
I know what you’re thinking, and yes, this is the best Zangief cosplay you’ve ever seen. It’s not often you see a cosplayer who has both the face and body of the character they’re portraying, so it really is a treat when you see one like this. I would say that I wanted to give him a hug, but he’d probably jump up and send me spinning into the ground. Since this is real life, I would die a horrible, horrible death.

by Sam Naylor on May 1, 2009 at 8:40 am

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Resale Values Drop
by Dan Landis on April 29, 2009 at 10:23 am
After news that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was being released on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, resale values of the original game for PS2, Dreamcast, and Xbox plummeted. The original release is one of the most expensive and sought-after games for collectors and is hailed by many to be one of the best fighting games ever released.
Marvel Announces Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for XBLA and PSN
by Demi Adejuyigbe on April 27, 2009 at 6:15 pmFor a couple of years now, we’ve been hearing rumors of Capcom and Marvel rereleasing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 online, but had never heard anything substantial, due to Capcom keeping a tight leash on any info they had. Well too bad, Capcom- an hour ago, in one fell swoop, Marvel announced Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes for XBLA and PSN, and even post a trailer to go with it.
While the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the Xbox and Dreamcast are considered rare because of their extremely limited print- even used copies in stores can run you upwards of $80- fans have been waiting for a reprint of the game for five years. As one of the most popular crossover fighting series of all time, people have even been holding their breath for a MvC3 announcement, even though Capcom has promptly shot down those dreams. Well they can’t shoot down this one- Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is back this summer, with the same menus, characters, fighting styles, that so many of us maybe a few of us know and love.

by Sam Naylor on April 27, 2009 at 8:25 am
The former Take-Two executive Gary Dale has been named as CEO of Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds today. “Having worked with Gary earlier in his career at BMG Interactive, I am deeply impressed with his management style and profound understanding of the entertainment business,” said David Jones, co-founder and creative director of Realtime Worlds. “As RTW transitions from being a traditional developer to an online publisher I could not be happier that Gary will lead us through this exciting phase of our growth.”
Dale himself adds that “The Company is on the verge of launching products that will change current conceptions of what MMO games are about.” Realtime Worlds is currently working on All Points Bulletin, an “urban action” style multiplayer online game. Devil May Cry For PSP Cancelle- Wait, What!?
by Demi Adejuyigbe on April 15, 2009 at 4:56 pmSince E3 2005, there have been rumors of Devil May Cry 3 being ported to the PSP, but we have never heard anything substantial about it. The closest we ever got was when Sony accidentally listed Devil May Cry on a list of games supported by third-party companies, but they never bothered to comment on that- which is why I find it weird that a “non-existant” game just got cancelled.
In the new issue of Famitsu, a PSP version of Devil May Cry as being cancelled, even though it had never been confirmed. When contacted for questioning, Capcom said, “Devil May Cry was once listed in a long string of titles in potential development for the PSP when the system was first announced.” Turns out that the game ddi exist, it just wasn’t public. Bad news for all of the DMC fans out there, but do you think it would’ve worked? Would you have enjoyed a Devil May Cry game for the PSP?
New Bayonetta website and trailer
by Sam Naylor on April 10, 2009 at 9:44 amAlongside the above trailer comes the official Bayonetta website. It’s in Japanese and requires Flash 10, so if you’re in the minority that can deal with both of those, have fun! Let us know in the comments if you find anything worthwhile there (Sean!). Either way the trailer is available to all, and contains a lady who has clothes made of hair. If that doesn’t make you watch it I don’t know what will.

Dead Rising 2 to feature multiplayer
by Sam Naylor on March 30, 2009 at 7:43 am
Capcom have announced (accidentally) that Dead Rising 2 will feature a multiplayer component of some kind, although just what was not mentioned. The comment came out in a GDC panel during which a Capcom representative also made a silly comment about there being 6000 zombies on-screen at once. Take a look at your TV, and you’ll see that to fit 6000 rotting undead on the screen at once, they’ll have to be tiny (or squashed in, making it unplayable).
Either way, a multiplayer mode is always welcome. Unless it’s not very good, in which case it’s not welcome at all. The game is also going to feature 800 types of zombie, meaning you won’t be seeing the same models over and over as you smash their heads in with/against your buddy/buddies.
Mega Man 2 Now on the iPhone/iPod
by Sal Romano on March 26, 2009 at 12:54 pm
Well this is odd and unexpected. While browsing through the iTunes Store for some new iPhone apps, I came across a new release from Capcom. That’s right, Mega Man 2 has been released in iTunes Store today, at the low price of $4.99.
The iPhone version features a virtual arcade, making it seem like you’re playing on an arcade (actually, it’s just to give you actual controls). You can buy it on the iTunes Store here.
