Chuck Norris World of Warcraft Commercial Proves How Dated It Is

As someone who often beats dead horses and jokes into the ground, you’d think I’d be cool with Blizzard using Chuck Norris to promote World of Warcraft the same way they did with Ozzy Osbourne, Mr. T and William Shatner.

However, not only is their latest commercial not funny, it’s not even relevant.

You may notice the commercial states that there are 10 million people in the World of Warcraft. Well, that’s not because Chuck Norris allows them to be there, that’s because nearly two million have left to play other games… or possibly go outside.

Anyway, if you’re so inclined, watch it anyway:

Broke Trek: Video from the Past Says Hello

The thing about Internet memes is that they sometimes come back. For those that don’t know what I’m talking about, the whole obsession with Chuck Norris is a meme, something stupid within pop culture that usually became a part of pop culture because it’s stupid.

This video is one of those things. Brokeback Mountain was released how many years ago? Combine the explicit gayness from that movie with the subtle gayness of the original Star Trek series and you get a humorous trailer for Broke Trek.

The video is at least a year old, but it is once again making its way around the geekosphere for unknown reasons — most likely it’s because people like me watch it and repost it. I’m contributing to the fall of civilization, but it’s a funny video so who cares.

Hey guys, guess what? What? Chuck Norris! LOL!! ROFLMAO!!

You thought it was over. Well, it isn’t. Chuck Norris is descending upon geek culture once again, with fists flaming with the might of 1,000 suns, and this time it’s in mobile game form. Chuck Norris: Bring On The Pain will be an old-school side-scroller beat-em-up that follows Chuck as he rescues POWs from a rogue Soviet Army, defends Texas from invasion and then tops it all off by overthrowing Fidel Castro (the dude is old as heck, give him a break, Chuck). There’s also some neat funtionality that lets you upload pics of your friends to the game, and then give them a trouncing courtesy of Mr. Norris.

Can’t wait for this, it’s gonna be even better than ORLY Owl The Game: ORLY?

The “Super Chuck Noris Bros.” teaser first appeared on YouTube in 2006, and the gaming world must have known it would only be a matter of time before a playable game surfaced on the web. The following demo video will give you a glimpse at the chock full of chuck experience that is Super Chuck Norris Bros. Watch the it and download the actual game after the jump.

I originally found this video on wegame.com via digg, but the site made no mention of where visitors could obtain the actual game, and that just wasn’t going to be good enough. With a little extra research I discovered that the demo was originally posted on YouTube in March of this year by user NeOVidas. Die hard Chuck addicts looking to play the game themselves can download it from NeOvidas’s website for free.

P.S. I made sure to download it first and as far as I can tell the download is virus free. “Chuck Norris doesn’t need a mushroom.” Enjoy.
