Scottish developer Ruffian Games is rumored to be working on a new multi-platform game.

They say there’s a defining moment in every video game. Assassins Creed had the gameplay, Mass Effect had the story, Goldeneye 64 had the nostalgia and Crackdown, well Crackdown had them damn orbs….

Crackdown 2 was finally released yesterday (want to know what we thought? Then click here), and thanks to the game’s list of Achievements, there is already buzz spreading about premium downloadable content packages called “Toy Box” and “Deluge.”

Crackdown was released in early 2007 to generally positive reviews. Players had a blast bounding over rooftops, throwing cars off of bridges, blowing up everything they saw in glorious mega-explosions. Now, over three years later, developer Ruffian Games has re-released the popular platformer fo- Wait, this is a sequel? Seriously? Oh. My bad, everyone.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend here in America, and in Canada, but as the partying dwindles down today, it’s time to get back to the games…

So last night, (or rather, this morning) I went to bed around 4AM. And do you know why I went to bed around 4AM? Because I was playing Crackdown 2 for hours and hours. I haven’t had time to play games until recently, but I will make time for Crackdown 2. And do you know why?

Talk about hot off the starting line. Judging by the Xbox 360 Avatar Awards for Ruffian Games “Crackdown 2″ it is safe to say that DLC is already planned and waiting to be released….

Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64 was an absolute treasure as far as retro(ish) FPSes go, so when the XBLA remake, complete with online multiplayer and improved visuals, was announced, it was a no-brainer pickup. And if the reviews didn’t convince you that you should pluck down $10 on the remake, then maybe this neat easter egg will.

If you’ve been plowing through the Crackdown 2 demo like I’ve been plowing through the zombie like creatures on the side of the video game roads, chances are you’ve gotten bored and need a bit of a challenge. Well Ruffian Games has heard your call…

The Crackdown 2 demo is pretty open as far as demos go. Instead of being able to play one mission, you can do whatever you want in the game- within the demo’s 30 minute time limit. However, with a recently discovered glitch, that 30 minute limit is no longer a restriction.

Crackdown 2 is not a game best displayed in demo form. It’s the epitome of a sandbox title. Anakin Skywalker would hate it. In the demo, you’re plunked down into the game’s big, open world with a 30 minute timer ticking away. For me, this meant running around like a chicken …
